Brownfields
Brownfields
Brownfields
are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and
commercial facilities where expansion and
redevelopment is stopped due to real or perceived
environmental contamination. Oftentimes
brownfields are contaminated by low concentrations
of hazardous waste or pollution. Brownfields
are important because they are areas that once
cleaned, could easily be used for redevelopment.
