Brownfields

Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion and redevelopment is stopped due to real or perceived environmental contamination.  Oftentimes brownfields are contaminated by low concentrations of hazardous waste or pollution.  Brownfields are important because they are areas that once cleaned, could easily be used for redevelopment.  Below are some resources that can be used to learn more about brownfields:
