Public Participation
The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning
Commission is committed to involving the public in
the regional decision making process. In order to
encourage people to participate we have produced a
series of brochures and guides to help the general
public understand what we do and how we do it.
Listed below are links to some of the documents we
have produced, as well as some of the programs we
have implemented in order to gain public
contributions.

Public Participation Plan-
Adopted in September
2007, the Public Participation Plan presents the
agency’s goals and objectives for public
participation, and describes the various processes
used to solicit, notify, involve and respond to the
region’s residents over the course of the
transportation planning process.
