Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) is seeking Statements of Qualifications for the provision of services relating to the development of an Economic Resiliency Plan to address short-term and long-term economic development impacts and aid in the economic recovery for future pandemics and disasters.

NIRPC staff taught Michigan City elementary school students about water quality and aquatic bugs during Trail Creek Week, September 18-22. As part of the field trips, students also paddled Trail Creek in 24-foot voyager canoes and learned about birds, fish, and invasive species.

Earlier this week, over 30 NWI municipal staff, officials, and community members attended Indiana DNR's 2-day Tree Steward training hosted by NIRPC. Participants learned about the basics of urban tree care and how to communicate the benefits of urban trees.
