NIRPC staff taught Michigan City elementary school students about water quality and aquatic bugs during Trail Creek Week, September 18-22. As part of the field trips, students also paddled Trail Creek in 24-foot voyager canoes and learned about birds, fish, and invasive species.

Earlier this week, over 30 NWI municipal staff, officials, and community members attended Indiana DNR's 2-day Tree Steward training hosted by NIRPC. Participants learned about the basics of urban tree care and how to communicate the benefits of urban trees.
