South Shore Bikes on Trains Pilot Program
NOW YOUR BIKE CAN RIDE TOO!
With bicycles growing in popularity across the United State, the South Shore is now testing a pilot program allowing bicycles on select weekend/holiday trains. Now bicycling enthusiasts can take their bike to chicago, Hammond, East Chicago, Dune Park (Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore and Indiana Dunes State Park), and South Bend.
WHAT’S THE COST?
Bike racks are provided free of charge on a first-come-first served basis.
WHEN TO RIDE?
Bike rack equipped cars will be available on select weekend/holiday trains from April 2nd through october 30, 2016. Bikes are not permitted during special chicago events such as: Blues Festival, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, and Air & Water Show.
