Mark O’Dell said the Westchester trail final walkthrough will be November 1, but there is still a year to go for the litigation on the wetland.
Mark Schreiber said the Chessie Phase I is due to let in March. Plans are being finalized with INDOT on Chessie Phase II as to how to get people into the downtown area because of work on the overpass.
Craig Zandstra said land acquisition plans continue between Broadway and Crown Point on the Veterans Parkway trail.
John Novacich said the Pennsy land acquisition is moving along with the first parcel at the end of the month and we are on track for an August letting for Phase II. Schererville met with Lake County Parks and Lake County Commissioner Jerry Tippy on extending the Pennsy south toward Crown Point. We have about a mile of crushed stone trail down on the Tiebel Nature Preserve.

The Little Calumet River contracted with DLZ for a bridge design for Kennedy Avenue over the Little Calumet which would construct a tunnel under Kennedy Avenue.
Mitch Barloga said we should hear something about the Marquette Greenway TIGER grant application early next year. We are still securing match obligations for the next round if we are not successful in the first round.
Mitch thanked Caitlin Stevens, Zach Dripps of MACOG for attending today. Zach commented that the Niles, Michigan connection into Indiana should be completed by next fall. Mitch added that a discussion on how to bring railroads to the table was also held.

Craig Zandstra announced ice skating is back at Lake County Parks once the weather cooperates.
The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
