Dave Shafer called the meeting to order at 11:05 am with the pledge of allegiance and self- introductions.
Ped
2018 Greenways+Blueways Map Update –
Mitch Barloga said the map is being updated with assistance from the Active Transportation Alliance and will be distributed by June.
Pedal
Mitch Barloga presented an overview of NIRPC’s 2050 Plan Development. Input will be solicited at each committee meeting and at least four public meetings will be held. The plan will go before the NIRPC Commission for adoption in May 2019.
Paddle
Mitch Barloga said new paddling opportunities will be highlighted on the Greenways+Blueways Map. Kip Walton added that Paths for the Blind events will be held June 21, July 9 and August 16.
Grab Bag
Project Updates – Updates were provided on trails in LaPorte and Hammond.
Emerging Trends Video – New Haven (CT) Bike Month
General Announcements
LaPorte will host three night bike rides.
Rachel Veronesi is working on getting free night lights for the bike rides.
Mitch Barloga introduced Dominique Edwards, NIRPC’s new Public Participation Planner.
Munster Bike Ride Day is April 22 from 9 to noon, beginning at the Monon trailhead.
Next 3PC Meeting is Thursday, June 7, 2018
